SOFTWARE ENGINEER - Radio Systems Engineering seeks a Software Engineer with a
BS degree in CS/EE or equivalent degree with 5 years demonstrated results to
participate in software development for radio communications applications on
small/medium size engineering teams. The Software Engineer will satisfy
allocated requirements through design, code and test of embedded code with
real-time constraints. The Software Engineer will be expected to support the
SEI Level 5 development environment, including the generation of design
documentation, test plans and test procedures.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
Software Developer. The Candidate must work well in a team environment and
have experience with software development and test methodologies, processes,
and products. Candidate should have experience with development in an SEI CMM
or CMMI environment. Good oral, written and interpersonal skills to support
appropriate interaction with internal team and teammate/customer
representatives. Strong technical contribution as individual designer.
Identifies domain of expertise. Plans, designs, develops and tests software
systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction
with hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of
computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Designs, develops,
operates, maintains, and documents software to be applied to engineering,
scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Experience in the one of more of
the following domains is required: wireless handsets, cell phone technologies,
WCDMA, UMTS, CDMA, GSM, VOIP, Software Defined Radios (SDR), Digital Modular
Radio (DMR), Software Communications Architecture (SCA), satellite
communications, or military communications. Desirable experience/knowledge
includes: PC applications in an MS Windows 2000/XP environment, real-time
embedded programming, communications protocols, encryption, Real-time OS such
as WindRiver or VxWorks, Object-Orient Design, state charts, message sequence
diagrams, Management Information Base (MIB) development and SNMP services,
hardware interface programming, test techniques, C/C++, Common Object Request
Broker Architecture (CORBA), Unified Modeling Language (UML), Rational tools
to include Clearcase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, Rose. Multiple opportunities
exist and are dependent on background and skill set. A higher or lower grade
may be established based upon qualifications and experience. Applicant must be
