SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER SR. (Performance) - Experienced software quality
engineer with emphasis on performance testing & hardware configurations to
work on testing complex, mission-critical applications. Candidate will
participate in development, planning, documentation, & execution of test
strategies, test plans, reports & metrics for company projects & products;
evaluates impact of network & hardware conditions upon software performance.
Passion for QA, excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills are
required. Keeps abreast of technology trends. Identifies technical interests &
aligns training plans with interests. Takes initiative in proposing ideas,
soliciting input, & optimizing solutions. Business Impact: Awareness of
business objectives & role in achieving. Demonstrates Leadership as follows:
Ideas that enhance productivity & efficiency. Willingly considers new ideas &
perspectives. Takes reasonable risks within the bounds defined. Identifies
alternatives in the midst of barriers to progress.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
3+ year’s development/testing experience with Java (preferred) or c++.
Understanding of object-oriented programming, familiarity with testing
methodology and processes. Ability to learn on a fly & feel comfortable in a
fast-paced rapid-development environment. A basic understanding of some of the
following areas, with advanced understanding & a minimum of one year
experience in at least 3 areas: 1) Manual Testing (White/Gray Box) 2) GUI
Testing for performance & memory usage 3) basic scripting(Perl, Windows Batch
Scripting, Unix shell scripting) 4) Hardware/OS administration/setup 5) Java
programming & tuning 6) basic network testing (bandwidth analysis, impact of
network conditions on performance) 7) development of custom load generation
tools 8) Coverage & leak testing (OptimizeIt preferred) 9) Configuration
Management & version control (Rational ClearCase/ Perforce preferred).
Demonstrates initiative, applies personal talent to practical solutions.
Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups within a project &
across a single engineering dept. Travel to customers/suppliers may be
required. Participates well in team projects & interacts well with others to
produce positive group results. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US
Security Clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen. Must be able to travel 20%
of the time.
