Job Title: ENGINEER, QUALITY SYS & SFTWR

Job Description:

SYSTEM & SOFTWARE QUALITY ENGINEER - Local candidates only. Represent division
quality management on communication project by performing aspects of Systems,
Software, or Hardware Quality and Design Assurance. Participate in
subcontractor evaluations and monitoring. Serve as liaison with government and
customer oversight functions. Proactively enable and assess conformance to
processes, plans, and end item product requirements. Assist in the tailoring
of organizational processes and metrics for the project. Act as customer
advocate on project by participating in reviews, conducting audits, and
monitoring all aspects of systems, software, and/ or hardware development and
test. Support the division’s continuous improvement objectives by evolving the
Quality Assurance function, and engineering processes. THIS IS NOT A TEST
POSITION.
Specific Knowledge: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Manufacturing, or a technical field preferred. Experience performing process
assessments or audits/evaluations of subcontractors preferred. In depth
knowledge of the Quality Management system (ISO-9001:2000). Experience with
DCMA preferred. Experience with engineering process models; hardware knowledge
a plus. Experience, training and implementation of the following disciplines
is a plus: Lean, Six Sigma, Defect Trend Analysis and support of Supply Chain
and parts procurement activities, workmanship requirements and good Quality
Management practices. Must be able to effectively express ideas in written and
verbal form. Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, planning, and
interpersonal skills, including experience on large development teams.
Proficient in the ability to create, disseminate and implement directives,
policies, procedures, methods and standards throughout product development
organizations. Knowledge of Fagan Inspection process requirements, experience
with DOORS/ReqPro and Rational development products and/or Orion, MQRS systems
desired. Some travel may be required. Ability to obtain Secret security
clearance is required.
