Job Title: ENGINEER, SAFETY

Job Description:

SAFETY ENGINEER -
Lead the development of strategies in the Engineering Prototype Shop to
provide a safe workplace, help conserve natural resources, & eliminate
pollution.

Develop the plan for health & safety, coordinate & archive accident or
incident investigations, & health & safety auditing.

Evaluate safety goals of the department & execute a plan to achieve goals.

Coordinate & prioritize health & safety requirement issues with Section
Managers.

Attend Joint Safety Meetings with Union, Division & cross functional
organizations.

Archive medical status & set up periodic & follow-up exams.

Manage tracking, status, & corrective action for medical, incident/injury
reports, industrial equipment & military vehicle licenses of department
employees.

Maintain housekeeping record status, requesting maintenance follow-up as
necessary.

Maintain & support department objectives including, CMMI, ISO 9001, ISO 14001,
OHSAS 18001, Diversity & Whole System Architecture (WSA).

Direct the management of hazardous materials & hazardous waste labeling,
storage & movement within the department.

Prepare schedules & budgetary guidelines for safety & training activities.

Provide training & certification for forklift, crane, dozer & mobile crane.

Coordinate Kiosk training.

Arrange for other training as required.

Conduct monthly department safety talks & facilitate safety talks for ED&D.

Support the WSA process & help support the Housekeeping Health & Safety, &
Training Starpoint Roles in the teams.

Bachelor's of Science in an engineering or business discipline is required.
Advanced degree is a plus.

5-15 years of experience is required

Must have the ability to communicate across various organizational levels.
Must be willing to work in a team based environment.
Must be familiar with Microsoft software (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Access,
Word, etc.)
Must have experience with ISO 14004 & OHSAS 18001.

1-3 years of experience in one or more of the following fields:
Facilities EHS
Safety Engineering
Health & Safety regulatory compliance

Must be able to work overtime, alternate, or split shifts, if necessary.
Must meet ASR requirements.
Must be able to travel.
Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
