Job Title: SPECIALIST, SR CONFIGURATION

Job Description:

SENIOR CONFIGURATION SPECIALIST - The successful applicant will provide
professional skills & expertise within IAD/CND's Information/Configuration
Management (ICM) function. Assigned configuration management responsibilities
will include functioning as the custodian of baseline definition documents, &
facilitating/managing changes to those baselines, primarily in an electronic
environment. The candidate must be able to work independently, performing
complex Configuration Management (CM) & Data Management (DM) activities for
medium or large projects. Contributes CM input to the concurrent engineering
process (i.e. as designed vs. as built). Supports project level Change Control
Boards (CCBs). Processes PDOs through the release & change process. Configures
& maintains automated CM databases (TeamCenter, ClearCase, ClearQuest). A
background in maintaining Bills of Material in TeamCenter is desirable. The
ideal applicant has a BS degree in a technical field or equivalent plus 3
years directly related experience. The successful applicant will provide ICM
domain knowledge, participate in division ICM process definition, & mentor &
train ICM analysts in performance of their duties.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
An AA degree is required, a BS or BA degree (or equivalent) is highly
desirable, & at least 3 years directly related experience with government
contracted product development programs is required. Position requires a
current competent level of computer skills & applications, specifically
ClearCase, ClearQuest, Teamcenter, & Microsoft products (Word & Excel).
Knowledge of UNIX & use of ClearCase in the UNIX environment are essential.
Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills & be capable of working both
independently & in a team situation. Comprehensive understanding of software
life cycles & a complete understanding of CM & DM methodologies & processes
are critical. Knowledge of quality models & how to apply them to CM is
desirable. Candidate must be experienced with CDRL processing & submittals &
with Configuration Status Accounting practices. Current US Security Clearance
preferred. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
