Job Description:

SENIOR MODELING & SIMULATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER - BS Degree in a technical field
related to systems engineering with 8+ years of demonstrated results, or
equivalent experience. Advanced Degree recommended. This position is seeking a
senior technical contributor as an individual designer in the development of
military C2 Training environments using Simulation and Stimulation. Candidates
must have a strong background in UNIX and Microsoft Windows development
environments. Previous successful contributions to Systems or Software
requirements analysis, design, implementation and test on moderate to large
programs are required. Demonstrated experience with engineering team
leadership and group coordination is required. Experience and collaboration
with external teams is required. Experience with simulation networking
protocols (HLA, DIS) is required. Experience with service-based network
centric architectures and automated development tools is desired. Expanded
contact to include program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc.
Frequent contact with senior management both internal and external. Frequent
contact with business development functions. Very knowledgeable of technical
capabilities of others within the department and able to form and lead them in
a team environment. Willing to mentor more junior engineers.
Specific Knowledge This position requires BS/MS degree or higher in CS or EE
and 8+ years of engineering development experience, participation in all
phases of system design, development, test, and production for the development
of simulation and training service-based systems. This includes developing
operational concept models, providing system requirements definition,
derivation and definition of high and low level system architectures, and
providing software and test support during the software implementation and
test phase of moderate to large projects. Oversight includes leading the
creation and modification of both UNIX-based and Windows-based applications
using C++ and Java. Experience with OPNET modeling software is a plus. A
successful candidate must provide leadership and expertise in applying
systematic processes to trade study, analysis, design, implementation,
integration, and test activities within a team environment. A successful
candidate must also have object oriented and structured programming
experience, the ability to adhere to a formal development process, a desire to
work with new technologies, and the ability to lead system and software
development teams. This position also requires support for new business
pursuits through development of technical briefings, system design concepts,
and proposal development. Successful accomplishments must include
participation in the delivery of moderate to large software intensive systems.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
