CPI Wins 101 Best & Brightest Companies To Work For Award – Metro Detroit

Over the years, Contract Professionals, Inc. (CPI) has taken every employee on all-expense paid vacations, sponsored company wide off-site activities, flown employees in from Arizona for the annual CPI holiday party, provided employees with longevity rewards, and more.

In January 2015, CPI created the CPIs Cool Places to Work Committee. The goal of the committee was to assess what type of innovative programs CPI already had in place, which would make CPI stand out as a place potential employees might find noteworthy. The committee was also tasked with making recommendations on how to make CPI even more user-friendly; focusing on wellness, work-life balance and compensation.

As a result, in the spring 2015, CPI launched an employee meditation room, flex time and a comprehensive wellness program. The wellness program included partial payment for gym/yoga memberships and access to a doctor who specializes in integrative medicine and nutrition. CPI also implemented a company wide stretch goal – a unique compensation program based on performance.

So when it came time to consider whether or not CPI could compete against other companies for the 101 Best & Brightest Companies Best Places To Work Award, in areas grading employee satisfaction and compensation, etc., we decided to throw our hat in the ring.

CPI is proud to announce that we won 101 Best & Brightest Companies To Work For Award in Metro Detroit for 2015!

According to the 101 Best & Brightest Companies, it takes determination, exceptional leadership, and daily ingenuity to maintain a successful organization. CPI excels in all three areas!

The core of our success comes from the people that work with us day in and day out, said Steve York, CEO, CPI. This award belongs to every employee at CPI. Without them, CPI wouldnt exist.

Applying for a 101 Best & Brightest award is a two step process. The first is to complete a comprehensive survey that must be filled out by the human resources department. Organizations are assessed based on categories such as communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.

The second is the all important employee survey. Every member of any of the competing organizations is given the opportunity to score their company and its management team.

Employees are encouraged to be rigorously honest during the survey process. Its very important to stress that the survey is completely anonymous and administered by a third party company. We wanted our employees to feel completely comfortable providing us with feedback, said York. The award is not worth winning if its not won honestly.

Each company also receives a copy of the results no matter the outcome. “CPI is thrilled to win! But we will also continue to improve using the results of the survey as a guide,” said Tricia Wilson, Accounting & Human Resources Manager, CPI, and member of the CPI Cool Places to Work Committee.

Participating companies also have the opportunity to benchmark results with other cities such as Atlanta, LA, New York, Nashville, Chicago and more.

The CPI team will accept their award on September 17, 2015 at the 101 Best & Brightest Companies Awards Ceremony at the Detroit Marriott in downtown Detroit.
