CPI’s Rent To Own Tool Box Program Puts Mechanics To Work

Manual Worker ToolsThere has never been a more competitive time, for those looking to find employment in the world of automotive mechanics. Every industry or vertical is looking for away to position themselves as a leader and innovator by hiring the best and brightest. But for those who have a true passion for their craft and a willingness to adapt and change, the rewards can be high paying wages and placements at prestigious automotive, defense, telecommunications and manufacturing companies.

Just like any skilled professional, a mechanic has to stay on top of his game by staying ahead of the curve. He has to be a world class diagnostician. He must possess an integrative knowledge base including an in depth understanding of electrical and computer systems. He must also be willing to be a team player by passing along his knowledge to others.

CPI has spent more than 35 years providing highly trained and very specialized mechanics to some of the largest companies in the world. Our goal has always been to source, recruit and place tracked and wheeled vehicle mechanics, to ensure the viability and success of our client’s projects.

Because the marketplace has become so competitive, CPI has been challenged to innovate and bring a value added to our clients. “It’s not enough just to bring the best of the best to the table anymore,” said Steve York CEO, CPI. “Our standard is to provide the best candidates to our clients, but we are also always looking for ways to innovate as well.”

So when one of our automotive clients suggested that we collaborate together on a rent to own rolling tool box program, there really wasn’t any question. “It’s a great opportunity for highly skilled mechanics to get the tools that they need to do their job. And when they make the final payment on the tool box, it belongs to them. They can take it where ever they go.”

The rent to own program allows each participating mechanic to pay a nominal amount each week until they have paid for the tools in full.

“The toolbox program has been very helpful to me. It got me the job with CPI. In order to make a substantial income as a mechanic, you have to have the necessary tools to be self sufficient,” said Mike Thomas, candidate in the rent to own program.

Thomas went on to say that before the program, he did not have the money to buy the requisite tools he needed for the type of employment he aspired to. The rent to own program changed all that for him. “The toolbox and tools that were provided to me enabled me to obtain a great job with an excellent wage. I want to thank CPI for helping me get the compensation I deserve.”

CPI started the rent to own tool box program in January 2015. To date, more than 60 mechanics have been given the opportunity to own their own tools. John Mulligan, Account Executive, CPI and manager of the rent to own tool box program anticipates that CPI will double that number by the end of 2018.
